The California government - through an agency called CARB (California Air Resource Board) - set vehicle emission standards that are higher than those set by the Federal government. They asked automakers to sign on to the initiative. Several European & Asian automakers did. Unfortunately, Ford was the only US automaker to sign on. Ford came to us looking for a piece that highlights their commitment to cutting emissions and celebrates California.
